A Fulham XI featuring six full internationals in the starting lineup showed their class in a comprehensive win at Kingsmeadow tonight.
Despite a quick start by the Premiership team, in which Erik Nevland opened the scoring in the 7th minute, K's had their share of the first half game and chances. Visiting goalkeeper Neil Etheridge made a handful of fine saves, most notably when finger-tipping a Dean Lodge shot onto the post. However, Hameur Bouazza struck on the stroke of half time to make it two-nil to Fulham. Wayne Brown made it three with an exquisite curling strike just after the break.
The final half hour saw a flurry of substitutions for both sides, and Fulham took full control, bagging a series of goals with a display of clinical finishing. Erik Nevland struck on the hour before Clint Dempsey converted a 67th minute penalty following a foul on Andranik. Bouazza blasted his second goal of the game into the top of the net in the 73rd minute, whilst substitute Lewis Smith slotted home the seventh four minutes later. Nevland completed the scoring with a low drive. Phil Williams went closest for K's in the second half, denied by Etheridge after a blistering run.
